It has been dubbed one of the scariest shows on television at the moment - Netflix's Bird Box has been a smash hit since it was released earlier this month.

One of the main talking points since its release has been the performance of Hollywood A-lister Sandra Bullock, who plays a mother-of-two experiencing the inevitable difficulties of living in a post-apocalyptic world.

The drama, which has Danish director Susanne Bier at the helm, is based on a 2014 novel by Josh Malerman.

Basically the idea is that supernatural entities take the appearance of their victims' worst fears, regrets and losses, causing them to die by suicide. Sounds delightful, right?

The film's synopsis says: "When a mysterious force decimates the world's population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life."

Sandra Bullock has been praised for her performance in Netflix Original 'Bird Box'.

But people love to be terrified, it seems, as Netflix announced it has been streamed by more than 45 million people since it was released.

And as well as being scared out of their wits, millions have been left scratching their heads and asking dozens of questions, even after watching it.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Bird Box had potential but it left so much unanswered. What happened to Lucy and Machine Gun Kelly? Why were mentally ill people able to see? How did the school manage to survive all that time? How did they survive for 5 years with TWO babies? WHAT ARE THE CREATURES?!??"

Another joked: "The real question I have is, how did Tom maintain a sharp hairline with clean waves five years throughout the apocalypse?"

A third said: "By having so many unanswered questions it leads to us, the audience, to be just as blind as the characters were."

And another added: "My question is how in the hell did Sandra's birds survive when they fell out of the boat? Nobody trying to save some birds over themselves."

Elle Magazine came up with 23 questions they think people should be asking themselves after watching the harrowing show, such as 'is there a reason those specific people escaped the mysterious entity?' and 'how was Gary able to live with the entity inside of him and not kill himself?'

They also asked: "The birds went crazy when Fish Fingers attempted to come inside the supermarket. Could they detect who was possessed?"

And: "Where did Felix and Lucy go after stealing the car? Did they survive?"

What do you think?
