He'll 'remember the arena attack'.

Michael Enright, born in Moss Side, Manchester, has told how he left Hollywood to defend his city in the fight against ISIS.

The actor, who has starred alongside Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean, said he would show no mercy for the terrorist organisation - especially after the Manchester Arena attack.

He's joined the battle in Raqqa, ISIS' supposed capital in Syria, as coalition forces try to rid the poisonous group out of the city.

Yesterday US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) opened two small holes in the city's 1,200 walls, which allowed fighters, like Enright, to flood through.

Mr Enright, speaking to The Sun, said memories of what happened in Manchester on May 22 will help spur him on in the fight against IS.

"I will remember Manchester Arena and the two attacks in London on Westminster Bridge and at Borough Market," he said.

"I'll give ISIS no quarter. I won't expect much mercy from them and I will not give them much mercy, that I can promise you."

22 people were killed on the night of an Ariana Grande concert towards the end of May, in an event that rocked the nation.

Enright, along with thousands in the city, united over the atrocity, but the actor claimed his emotion turned to anger when the London terror attack happened.

"It might be a bit strange but when I heard about the attack on London Bridge I thought, 'I wish I'd been there'," he admitted.

"I'd have grabbed the nearest knife. I don't which way it would have gone but at least I could have gone for them.

"It just absolutely hardened my heart."

Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane, and Yousef Zaghba killed eight people, and injured many more, on during the evening of June 3, 2017.

It came after terrorist Khalid Masood killed four people on Westminster Bridge, and also knifed PC Keith Palmer to death outside Houses of Parliament, on March 22.

The week's events in Raqqa are the most offensive seen by the SDF. Two 25-metre sections of the 2,500m wall were breached. The fighters, according to a SDF statement, said the ancient palace of Qasr al-Banat, in the eastern part of the city, had been captured.

Mr Enright said he decided to join the fight against IS after journalist James Foley was beheaded by Mohammed Emwazi - known as Jihadi John.

"I was just appalled by the cowardice of that man to do that," he added.

Enright, who has no military training, said that he travelled to Syria in 2015 but did not tell his mother or sister - although his aim is to return home one day to kiss them.

He said: "This is the most important thing I've ever done with my life. There's no acting job that can come close to this. I made a commitment to stay here until we've beaten ISIS and that's what I intend to do."

Sadly, he knows he's fighting a difficult battle. He reckons for every one member that is fighting against ISIS, another 10 or 20 join the rebel group.

He had called for the support of British troops, believing that the fight would be over much sooner if they joined the cause.

"But I'm also British and I understand the English and American reticence to get involved in another Middle Eastern War," he said.

"We have almost no heavy weapons. If we could get any kind of heavy weapons, that would be amazing."
