Aldi Release Huge Hot Cross Bun That Even Woman With World’s Largest Mouth Can’t Eat

Aldi Release Huge Hot Cross Bun That Even Woman With World’s Largest Mouth Can’t Eat

That's a lotta bun

Aldi has released a hot cross bun so huge, even the woman with the world’s biggest mouth can’t eat it.

Yes, it’s that time of year again when supermarket shelves fill up with Easter goods, one of the UK’s favourite being hot cross buns.

And Aldi has decided to offer up a new spin on the springtime treat by launching a whopping 600g Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun.

It’s so big, in fact, that Samantha Ramsdell - aka the woman with the world’s biggest mouth - couldn’t fit her gob around it.

Samantha went viral on TikTok by showing off her super-sized mouth last year, only to then bag a Guinness World Record for largest mouth gape (female).

In a recent video, shared with her 2.9 million followers, Aldi challenges the TikTok star to try their new Giant Hot Cross Bun in one bite.

She starts off by trying one of the supermarket’s regular-sized hot cross buns, which she describes as a ‘UK delicacy’.

And yep, she gobbles that down in one no problem.

However, when it comes to the eight-inch mammoth of a bun, which is bigger than Samantha’s head, she doesn’t even get close.

Speaking about the challenge, she said: “I can fit an entire apple in my mouth and wanted to see if I could take things to the next level, but this hot cross bun is so big, it defeated me!

“Despite failing the challenge, I really loved the taste. The bun is super buttery and delicious with loads of juicy fruit – one to tell my American pals about for sure!”

Although she didn’t win the challenge, the comments section was filled with praise for Samantha, with one person writing: “You absolute legend!! Amazing attempt beautiful.”

Others were quick to offer up their own suggestions on how Samantha should enjoy the Easter treat.

“Hot cross buns are so much better toasted in the toaster, cut in 2 with butter in the middle,” wrote one, while another said: “Toast them and put butter on them.”

Pretty sure that even if the TikToker had followed these instructions, there’s still no way she’d be able to fit Aldi’s giant bun into her mouth.

If you want to have a try yourself, the new seasonal product will be available in UK Aldi stores and online from 27 March for £3.49 a piece.

The budget supermarket suggested to enjoy it as recommended by the online community - toasted and then slathered in butter - or to spread on some of its chocolate hazelnut spread.
