Woman Breaks Guinness World Record For How Wide She Can Open Mouth

A woman with a super-sized mouth who went viral on TikTok has now been awarded a Guinness World Record. You can see her mind-boggling jaw in action here:

Samantha Ramsdell has racked up almost 50 million views on her TikTok videos which show off her impressive gob and now she's the official title holder for largest mouth gape (female).

Nicely done.

The 31-year-old said she initially set up a TikTok account to alleviate a bit of boredom but she soon went viral with users blown away by the size of her mouth.

Her followers eventually encouraged her to put herself forward for the Guinness World Record - so she went off to a dentist to have some official measurements taken in front of an adjudicator.

Dr. Elke Cheung used digital callipers to measure Samantha's mouth and worked out an average of her 'maximum stretch', which was a whopping 6.52 cm.

Or to give that some context, an entire apple or large portion of McDonald's fries.

Although she now proudly shows her mouth off on TikTok to her 1.4 million followers, Samantha says that growing up she was teased for her large mouth with mean kids calling her names.

However, she grew up to accept herself and started to love her unique feature.

Speaking to Guinness World Records, she said: "Being 31 and being able to get a record for something that really I was so insecure about, something that I wanted to keep so small, it's great because now it's like one of the biggest, best things about me.

"If I had advice for anyone who had a large body part, or something really unique, and they wanted to go for the Guinness World Records title, I would say do it!

"Do it proud and make it your biggest asset. It's your superpower, it is the thing that makes you special and different from everyone else walking around."

She added: "You know getting a Guinness World Records title, it's finally being almost able to show some of the bullies or people who doubted me, or tormented me, that hey - I have a big mouth but at least I have the biggest one in the world!"
