The former brother-in-law of Michael Jackson accused the singer of beating his pet chimp Bubbles.

The popstar, who adopted the now iconic chimpanzee in the 1980s has been accused of punching the cute primate in the face and kicking him in the stomach.

Jane Goodall, 84, is one of the world's top primatologists, and claims the cheeky chimp was in fact 'beaten' during his time living with Jackson at his famous Neverland ranch.

The Brit said she even spoke to former child star about the allegations and unsurprisingly it didn't go down well.

"I went to see him and we talked about Bubbles. I ticked him off," she said back in 2014.

"Bubbles is still alive and he's beautiful. But when he was with Michael he was being beaten."

Dr Goodall has never accused Jackson of being the perpetrator of the alleged attacks on the ape, however the singer's former brother-in-law, Jack Gordon, said he witnessed the beatings.

Mr Gordon, who was once married to LaToya, reportedly said: "I saw Michael punch Bubbles in the face, kick him in the stomach."

According to the Sun, the Jackson family has denied these allegations of violence against the former pet, Bubbles, who, is now 35 years old and lives at a sanctuary in Florida.

It has been an uncomfortable time of late for the Jackson family as allegations of sexual abuse against the King of Pop have resurfaced.

In a new documentary Leaving Neverland, Wade Robson and James Safechuck both claim to have been abused by Jackson as children.

The movie has since been labelled a 'public lynching' in a statement by the Jackson family.

And a woman claiming to have been the singer's ex 'secret lover' has also come out in his defence, claiming he was innocent and only interested in women.

The singer's life was also marred by allegations of sexual abuse.

The woman, Shana Mangatal, told the Sun: "I think it's awful - these two boys who are accusing him of these things in the documentary were two of his best friends, who he really cared for.

"They were loving towards him and he was loving towards them, but in a pure and innocent way. He would never think that they of all people would turn against him...

"To him sleeping in the same bed as kids, hanging out it was all so normal.

"He was just so naive about it all and he didn't realise that these kids had parents and some of them didn't have the best motives...

"He would be heartbroken about this - but he would never blame the children."
