Emma Bunton is set to host the US version of the Great British Bake Off - the slightly less catchily-titled Great American Baking Show.

She joins American footballer Anthony Adams as host, while Paul Hollywood - who also fronts the British version of the show - will share judging duties with award-winning pastry chef Sherry Yard.

The new lineup follows sexual harassment allegations against former judge Johnny Iuzzini, which meant that the third season of the baking contest was pulled after just two episodes.

ABC later announced that Vallery Lomas had won the competition, revealing that she had beaten fellow contestants Cindy Mailniak and Molly Brodak to victory.

Bunton has referred to the gig as her 'dream job', and said that she's been having a lot of fun with it already.

She told the Daily Mail: "This is my dream job! Christmas time, eating cake and having such a brilliant time with Spice, Sherry and Paul..."

Revealing that she had already started shooting, Bunton said: "Just being in the famous tent - honestly it took me a week to get used to being in the tent.

"I had lots of fun with Paul. He's got a great sense of humour. I did watch out for him [though, as] he can be trouble. He's got those eyes. Don't look in his eyes!"

While most of us can bond over a shared love of cakes and bakes wherever we are in the world, Bunton did explain that there was still a small issue of some things getting lost in translation across the pond.

She said: "There was this whole biscuit week and I was like it was 'It's biscuit week!' and they were 'Oh no, it's cookie week'... and I was like, 'Hang on, I'm the expert in biscuits'."

Yeah, we're confused too to be honest.

Bunton's fellow Brit on Great American Baking Showfellow, Paul Hollywood is also the only person from the original lineup of the Great British Bake Off, after the show made a controversial move from the BBC to Channel 4.

Mary Berry, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, on the other hand, decided they wouldn't be going with him.

In a statement, Berry explained: "My decision to stay with the BBC is out of loyalty to them, as they have nurtured me, and the show, that was a unique and brilliant format from day one.

"What a privilege and honour it has been to be part of seven years of magic in a tent.

"I am just sad for the audience who may not be ready for change, I hope they understand my decision."

She added: "The Bake Off family - Paul, Mel and Sue have given me so much joy and laughter."

"I wish the programme, crew and future bakers every possible success and I am so very sad not to be a part of it.

"Farewell to soggy bottoms."
