Manchester is synonymous with two things - the iconic worker bee and drinking. Award-winning Joseph Holt have brought these two things together to create the Manchester Bee Glass. Before you put a pint in it, it looks a bit like an inverted Newcastle United strip, but once ale is poured in, magic happens.

The limited-edition glasses will only be available while stocks last. Joseph Holt's Marketing Manager, Paul Longmire, said: "We've combined two of Manchester's most iconic symbols - beer and the bee - to create the Manchester Bee Glass. We are delighted to immortalise the symbol of our great city this way. The Manchester Bee is something that all generations relate to. We hope people enjoy watching their beer turn into a bee". Who wouldn't?

The glass comes after the launch of their citrusy hit, Northern Hop ale, which has been been introduced to their already large selection.

Jane Kershaw who is the sixth generation of the Holt family to work at the brewery said "Joseph Holt is so closely linked to the history of Manchester,

"On the other hand, Northern Hop, our latest ale, is very popular with young people who are turning to pale ales in increasing numbers. So, this glass combines a strong, proud nod to our history in a cool, collector's item."

Rising stars Steve Lownes and Aron Sidhu were the lead creative team on the project on behalf of Manchester agency Cheetham Bell. Aron Sidhu said: "The best ideas are the simplest. You see the bee all over Manchester: on streets, shopfronts, even tattooed on people's bodies. We're over-the-moon to have helped our client become the first brewer to put it on a glass".

You can get your bee glass by buying 5 pints of Northern Hop at 78 of Joseph Holt's 127 pubs across the North West. Simply get 5 stamps on your loyalty card and the glass is yours.
