While most parents are fed up with thinking up new ideas for elf on the shelf at this point in December and resort to quick and easy methods, Jacqueline takes the prize for the most effort we’ve seen being put into an elf on the shelf idea.

Jacqueline named the challenge ‘Twins’ and it involved her dressing her son up in his sleep to match the elf.

Jacqueline managed to change her son into a red onesie, before heading downstairs to cut a white collar out of paper to match the elf’s and getting that over his head, before completing the outfit with a hat - all without disturbing him.

Once she’d dressed her son in his elf attire, she left the elf in front of him ready for when he wakes with a note saying ‘Twins!!’

You can watch her video below.

Thousands of amazed viewers have liked, commented and shared the video.

“Sleeper of the year goes to…” said one TikTok user, which got more than 291,000 likes.

“My son would wake up the moment I had the idea… let alone doing that,” said one person.

“The little celebratory dance when you successfully didn’t wake him was the best part,” commented another.

“That is dedication,” said another.

“This is the epitome of moms making Christmas magic. Congrats, no way I could make that happen,” said another impressed TikToker.

Jacqueline posted the video in December 2020, but it’s still one of the most-viewed elf on the shelf clips on TikTok now.

The next morning, Jacqueline posted a video of her son’s reaction to the prank. She captioned it: “Reaction to ‘Twins.’ He couldn’t believe it. He basically stared at himself in the mirror forever.”

This follow-up video racked up more than 70,000 likes.

Hats off to this clever mum.
