Health warning issued after authorities discover MDMA pills three times normal dose

Officials believe the dangerous pill is being circulated around Manchester.

Officials have issued a health warning after discovering an MDMA pill up to three times the normal dose.

The illegal substance is already a dangerous drug due to the effects it can have on the body.

And that's when it's just the normal dosage.

However, the Manchester Drug Analysis and Knowledge Exchange (MANDRAKE) has come across pills that are incredibly potent.

The small, red pills have 'M5 Competition' pressed onto one side and they're believed to be two and a half to three times stronger than your run-of-the-mill MDMA pill.

MANDRAKE has cautioned people to 'seek medical attention' if they feel unwell after taking one of these.

The big issue with potency is that many drug users won't know the strength of the pill they're taking until it kicks in.

Now, if someone is used to having two in one night and they pop two of these M5 Competition ones, then they would be accidentally having six.

That's why authorities like MANDRAKE are sounding the alarm.

This is only a few days after officials discovered similarly potent pills in the Manchester area.

MANDRAKE issued an alert about silver Punisher pills that are around two and a half times the normal oral dose.

While these seem like incredibly strong pills, it's nothing compared to what was found in the UK back in 2021.

Bouncers at a club in Manchester seized Blue Punisher pills and they were found to be noticeably thicker and heavier than normal.

Researchers tested the pill and found it contained nearly four times the normal amount of MDMA.

A regular ecstasy pill has roughly 125mg of MDMA, the chemical compound that gives users the 'high'.

This Blue Punisher was loaded with 477mg of the psychoactive drug.

It's believed to be the strongest ecstasy pill ever seen.

A spokesperson for drugsdata.org explained to Vice News it was 'stronger than any pill recorded' by them, with the closest competitor being a 'purple Philipp Plein skull pill at 366mg found in Vienna' in 2020.

Drug analysis expert Guy Jones from Reagent Tests UK also told the news outlet: "This is a new world record. Impossible to rule out that a stronger one has ever been made, but the number of pills over 400mg with a public test result could be counted on one hand."

Be careful out there because you really don't know what you're taking.
