The World's Strongest Ecstasy Pill Has Been Found At A UK Nightclub

The world's strongest ecstasy pill has been found at a UK nightclub and it's prompted serious concerns.
Bouncers at a club in Manchester seized the Blue Punisher pill and it was found to be noticeably thicker and heavier than normal.
MANDRAKE, a drug analysis lab based at Manchester Metropolitan University, tested the pill and found it contained nearly four times the normal amount of MDMA.
A regular ecstasy pill has roughly 125mg of MDMA, the chemical compound that gives users the 'high'.
This Blue Punisher was loaded with 477mg of the psychoactive drug.
MANDRAKE noted how the pill was 'significantly heavier than [a] normal' one, which should help users identify other pills that might contain high amounts of MDMA.
The blue, diamond shaped pill was one of many seized at the Manchester club 10 days ago and it was tested among other high-dose pills. In the same collection, researchers found other pills that ranged from 397mg up to the Blue Punisher's 477mg.
But this isn't just some highly dosed pill, it's believed to be the strongest ecstasy pill ever seen.
A spokesperson for drugsdata.org explained to Vice News it was 'stronger than any pill recorded' by them, with the closest competitor being a 'purple Philipp Plein skull pill at 366mg found in Vienna' last year.
Drug analysis expert Guy Jones from Reagent Tests UK also told the news outlet: "This is a new world record. Impossible to rule out that a stronger one has ever been made, but the number of pills over 400mg with a public test result could be counted on one hand."
Questions are being raised about whether the manufacturer of the pill deliberately intended for it to be a high dose, or whether it was the result of 'amateur pressing'.
Regardless, the fact that this was found by a bouncer at a club means someone was ready to take all or part of it on their night out, which could have proved fatal.
Many people will take a quarter or half of a pill to see whether their body could handle it. But in this case that would have given them at least a whole dose of a normal pill.
God knows what would have happened if they took the whole thing.
Authorities have warned people about Blue Punishers for a while now after similar tests revealed the style of ecstasy pill has repeatedly showed high doses of MDMA hidden inside.
