Name someone with a cool voice. Name someone who you'd want to narrate your life if it was a film. Go on. Yep, the answer was simple, wasn't it? Morgan Freeman.

The deep, American tones are profound and almost instantly recognisable.

On Friday, Freeman appeared on The Graham Norton Show to help promote his new film, Going Out In Style.

His new feature-length production sees him star alongside legends Sir Michael Caine and Alan Arkin as three pensioners, who all find out their pensions have been cancelled, decide to rob a bank.

Morgan's infamous voice basically means he's the go-to-guy when something needs saying. If you've seen The Shawshank Redemption then you're already halfway there.

During the chat with the BBC One host, Freeman was discussing about his 1994 classic film and how that originally it was a flop.

"It tanked at the box office," said Freeman, which is surprising for such a brilliant film about a prison break.

"And the reason for that is because the only marketing films get, I think, is word of mouth," he continued. "You can promote it all you want, but if audiences come back and can't really say 'I saw this great film', then you're not going to get really far."

He does admit although people did go and see the film, the name proved a big sticking point.

"Man, I saw this really terrific movie, it's called, ermmm," he says as he imitates a cinema-goer. He then recalls some hilarious mocks of the name Shawshank.

Freeman said he once got in a lift with someone who praised him for his role in the 'Hoodsucker Reduction' - a very interesting take on the original title.

"So, if you can't get word across, then it just doesn't do well," he finishes.

Sir Michael interrupted to say this was probably the reason his film, Alfie, did so well, with its short and snappy title.

Norton then asked if Shawshank Redemption was the film that made him "Mr Narration", Freeman could only agree.

The Irish host then asked Freeman if he wouldn't mind narrating a special 'Shawshank mash-up' that they'd created.

The American actor obliged and the results, are brilliant!

Freeman's narration was superb, and once again he's the king of the vocal chords.

He can literally narrate anything, something he proved a while back on Jimmy Kimmel's show, when he simply just narrated over a man crossing the street.

Those sumptuous vocal chords just sit right at home with everyone.
