A waitress has revealed the secret way you can tell when the restaurant wants you to leave. If you have ever worked in hospitality, you’ll know that it can be an extremely mentally taxing job.

Between demanding customers, rude managers and angry chefs, it can get really annoying for not a lot of money.

One waitress on TikTok has revealed how you can tell whether or not the restaurant wants you to leave - and it’s all to do with the dreaded bill.

Usually, when you ask for the bill at a restaurant, your waiter will go over to their till to print off a copy to bring to your table.

And then, of course, leave you to argue with every member of the party as to who is paying what.

However, TikTokker @tastyriah, has said that she will print off the bill in advance for a party she wants to leave, rather than waiting until they ask for it.

If you've ever been handed your bill instantly, you now know why.

In her video she said: “When customers say 'can I get the cheque' but I pull it out of my pocket because I've been waiting for you to gtfo [get the f**k out] of my section.”

Now that’s us told!

Many of the commenters who also worked in restaurants agreed with her, saying that they use this trick all the time to get rid of rude customers, or maybe when their manager is on their back trying to make room for more people.

One commenter joked: “Me saying no rush when I want them to rush more than they ever have before."

Another said: “Why do we all say 'no rush, whenever you're ready'? We gotta come up with a new hint for them to leave soon!”

Some commenters flipped the tables and said that the same annoying situation can happen as a customer.

One said: “Goes both ways! When you sit and look at the waitress for 20 minutes with crying kids begging to leave but they don't bring the bill."

The most annoying of all the customers you can serve at a restaurant found their way into the comments section too.

One wrote: “And that's when I order something else for fun."

Take the hint guys!

However, a large number of customers have said that now that they know this trick, it will be reflected in the tip they give.

One customer said: “Rush me out, that tip's gonna be real SHORT!”
