Shrek fans have a disturbing question which they've only thought about as an adult

When you’re watching your favourite animations as a kid, there’s a lot of adult jokes that go over your head.

And a lot of adult implications too.

For example, in the live adaptation of Scooby Doo, Shaggy meets a lady called Mary Jane.

As a child, you probably thought it was just a nice name he liked, but as a grown up, you just know Shaggy was a full-blown stoner.

But there’s so much more to explore.

One of those things just so happens to be a little romance between a donkey and a dragon. Remember?

In Shrek, the scary ogre and talkative donkey go on a mission far far away (or was it far far far away?) to rescue Princess Fiona from a scary dragon guarding her in its castle tower for some little manlet who wants to marry her.

When the knights meet the beast, a quick battle ensues before Donkey is left alone with the dragon so Shrek can rescue the princess.

But when all is said and done, the two unlikely animals decided that they’re a bit more compatible than initially thought.

Now, the internet has grown up and our generation is interested in what went on between the two with such a difference in sizes.

Especially since Dragon went on to have a litter of half-donkey kids.

Reddit thinks it’s got the answer for you.

In the AskScienceFiction subreddit, they came up with their own theories as to how the pair ‘did it’.

The answers aren’t exactly scientific but they sure are funny.

One person wrote: “I have it on good authority that Donkey was hung like a Shetland pony.”

According to someone else, there was a lot more than physical contact that led to babies: “It had always been my assumption that the Happily Ever After Potion facilitated the arrival of the... children.”

So, he was a stud and managed to…do it?

This feels icky to speculate about.

Another believed it was similar to a snake or chicken: “She laid the eggs and he sat on them.”

Another speculation about Dragon having some sort of magic power could be the answer to end all answers: “Most dragons have the ability to shapeshift to some extent. Its likely she has this ability but just never used it on screen.”

She could have also turned into a donkey and then immediately turned back afterwards, babies in belly and ready to carry to term.

I mean, any of these are pretty good but it does feel incredibly strange to think about the pair doing it after decades of cute memories and childhood dreams.
