This video shows a teen flaunting the results of a tattoo session where the words 'dream chaser' had been accidentally inked on his forearm backwards:

The footage has garnered over 2.5 million views since it was uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday (26 August) and has even grabbed the attention of celebrity tattoo artist 'Bang Bang'.

Dylan Harraway, 18, a rapper from Virginia, US, spent two hours getting inked at a tattoo parlour in his home town and was initially super happy with the results, not noticing the mistake until he met up with a friend.

Dylan, who didn't want to reveal the name of his tattoo artist for fear of ruining their reputation, said: "I hadn't been to the shop before but it was very clean and professional.

"I got the tattoo because I wanted motivation for me to chase my dreams and I'm a big fan of the rapper Meek Mill.

"'Dream chaser' means to me that I need to do whatever I need to do to chase my dreams of living the life I've wanted as a kid. I thought the tattoo looked great when I first saw it.

"I didn't notice until my friend told me it was backwards. I was very angry and there were a lot of emotions running through me."

There have been mixed reactions to his botched permanent marking from those close to him and on social media. Speaking about this he said: "My friend just thought it was funny and it looked good and my family thought I was a dumbass.

"There have been good and bad reactions on social media from saying it looked good and I can embrace it, to saying it looks terrible and that's what I get for $200. I did get an offer from 'Bang Bang' though who wants to give me a cover-up."

'Bang Bang' is a NYC-based tattoo artist responsible for inking a huge number of A list stars including Rihanna and Kylie Jenner, reached out and said he would do a cover-up for Dylan, who has not been discouraged from getting more body art in the future.

He commented: "I'm not traumatised and I'm looking forward to finishing my sleeve in the future."

One social media user had a hilarious solution for Dylan's problem and said: "Just have a kid and name him Resahc Maerd. Modern problems require modern solutions." Sounds reasonable.

Others were unsympathetic to his plight, with one commenting: "Serve you right for getting dream chaser on your arm."
