'Home Alone' Actor, John Heard, Dies Aged 72
Actor John Heard has died aged 72, it has been confirmed on Saturday.
Heard, famed for his role as Macaulay Culkin's dad in the Home Alone series, died in his hotel room, reports TMZ.
Reports state that he was found by a maid, with police called for a medical emergency, but was pronounced diead at the scene.
The coroner is currently investigating, with the cause of death unclear at this time.
TMZ state that Heard had undergone 'minor back surgery' on Wednesday at Stanford Medical Centre, and he was staying at the hotel while he recovered.
The actor made his film debut in 1977, starring in Between The Lines, and rapidly established himself as a Hollywood favourite.
His last film, So B. It, was released last year.
As well as being on the big screen, he also appeared in some legendary TV shows such as The Sorpanos - where he played Detective Vin Makazian, Prison Break and NCIS.
Fans on social media were quick to pay tribute to the actor.

He leaves behind three children: Jack, Max and Annika.
