Jedward have shaved off their famous quiffs live on TV for charity, raising money for the Irish Cancer Charity in memory of their late mum. Watch below:

The brothers, whose real names are John and Edward Grimes, rose to fame in the sixth season of The X-Factor, and became as well-known for their bubbly energy as for their gigantic matching quiff hairdos.

But now both of them have decided to shave off their trademark bouffants, receiving praise from viewers as they underwent the drastic change last night on RTE's The Late Late Show.

Sharing a clip on social media, the show wrote: "STUNNING! Fair play to @PlanetJedward for shaving off their famous quiffs for the Irish Cancer Society."

Many people commented to say the duo were 'great sports' for what they did, having dedicated the stunt to their late mum Susanna Condron, who sadly died of cancer in 2019.

One person tweeted: "What a brilliant show that was... and raised an amazing amount of much needed cash. Jedward were great sports shaving their hair off."

Another person wrote: "Amazing lads, they look fab, their quiffs were their signature, to shave it off for such a good cause, their mum would be so proud of them."

A third said: "Well done guys. It was a genuine act on your behalf. The new hairstyle really suits you."

Meanwhile, another fan went all in with the compliments, adding: "I think they look great! A brave and decent thing to do. Their hair was their signature. Respect."

While they were getting their hair shaved off, the brothers revealed it was the first time their hair would be different 'since the beginning of Jedward', saying this would be their new 'grown-up' style.

Edward went first, shouting 'Jaysus!' repeatedly as the reality sank in, saying he may have to invest in a new collection of hats.

When it was John's turn to get his locks chopped off, he said: "Everyone goes through cancer and has stories to tell.

"Even our grandad, he had lung cancer and he lived for nearly 20 years with one lung and had skin cancer.

"So it's heartbreaking to hear these stories and to see the family and friends and everyone telling their stories, just to see what everyone's been through."

After the stunt was finished, Jedward tweeted a before and after photos of themselves, writing: "F*** Cancer."

In another tweet, they added: "The IRISH PUBLIC have raised 2.5million for the Irish Cancer Society and growing."
