Paul Rudd has undergone a transformation for a new role which gives us all an idea of what he'd look like if he actually aged.

Rudd, 52, whose agelessness has become a bit of a running joke, is rocking a full head of snow white hair for his new role as Dr Isaac 'Ike' Herschkopf in the Apple TV Plus series The Shrink Next Door.

Rudd looked remarkably different to how we're used to seeing him, as he sported his new white 'do, grey beard and a suit that looked a little bit too big for him.

According to Apple's synopsis of the new show, the series is a 'dark comedy inspired by true events that detail the bizarre relationship between psychiatrist to the stars Dr Isaac 'Ike' Herschkopf and his long-time patient Martin 'Marty' Markowitz [Will Ferrell]'.

The Ant-Man actor has previously been accused of being an 'immortal vampire' by fans, while Friends co-star Jennifer Anniston has also commented on the fact that he 'doesn't age'.

Wishing him a happy birthday, Anniston wrote: "Happy birthday #PaulRudd!! You don't age, which is weird - but we celebrate you anyway."

Rudd had his big break in the 1995 comedy Clueless, and he barely seems to have aged a day since he played the role of Josh - Alicia Silverstone's step-brother and love interest.

Speaking a few years back, Rudd joked with fans that the secret to his never-aging face was due to being filled with 'pure darkness'.

When asked the secret to his eternal youth at Chicago's Comic & Entertainment Expo, Rudd replied: "I'm 80 years old on the inside," before pointing to his chest and stating: "In here, pure darkness - and a little moisturiser."

In fact, the actor regularly faces questions about his apparent inability to age.

In a 2017 interview on The Graham Norton Show, the host showed a photo of Rudd from the 1980s and commented: "Honestly, it is weird. You don't seem to age."

To which Rudd quipped: "I feel awful on the inside."

Seth Rogen, who joined him on the sofa, said that despite initially looking younger than Rudd, he thinks he now looks like Rudd's dad.

"To be fair, though Seth, when we met you were 15 and you looked like you were 37," Rudd said.

Ouch.
