Isn't it cool when celebrities pop shots at each other from different online platforms? I know I dig it, and seeing as the Roman empire fell a while back, it's the next best thing to watching them fight to the death!
As you may know, Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes last weekend. Because he totally plays by his own rules, he delivered several jokes that made people grab their phones, open Twitter, and type words and sentences that were disapproving of Ricky's comedic content.
Caitlyn Jenner was one of his targets on the night:
"I've changed. Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously. Now Caitlyn Jenner, of course. What a year shes had. She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes. She didn't do a lot for women drivers, but you cant have everything, can ya?"
People branded it transphobic. Others said it was great comedy. Some had no idea what was going on. Yesterday, Caitlyn responded at a press junket for her reality show:
"I think what I'm gonna do is call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year."
I hope Ricky was wearing oven gloves, because he must have had a hard time handling that hot take! Unperturbed, Gervais tweeted this:
Perturbed, he then deleted it.
Even so, he still fired a few more shots at Jenner:
