Leah Michele shares tribute to Corey Monteith on the 10th anniversary of his death

The Glee star shared a heartfelt message about the actor, who she dated from 2012 until his death the following year.

Lea Michele says she’ll ‘never forget’ Cory Monteith on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

The Glee star took to her social media account to share a heartfelt message about the actor, who she dated from 2012 until his death the following year.

“Hey you. 10 years. It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time,” she penned to her eight million Instagram followers.

“I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten. We miss you every day and will never forget the light you to brought to us all. I miss you big guy. I hope you found Taylor up there and are playing the drums together.”

Many were quick to express their condolences, as actor and former co-star John Stamos wrote: “Such a tragic loss of such a good human. Fucking addiction man. If anyone out there is suffering from this horrible disease, check out AA. Saved my life. Xo.”

While a fan said: “Our quarterback. Forever and always. Love you.”

And another commented: “The life you've made for yourself, he'd be so happy for you. Funny Girl on Broadway and your beautiful family. He truly is resting in peace looking down with his amazing smile blessing you.”

Monteith played Finn Hudson on the Fox series, where he met Michele.

He had openly discussed his troubled history of substance abuse, which began as a teenager.

He started using drugs when he was 13 and entered drug rehabilitation aged 19.

In March 2013, Monteith sought treatment for his addiction once again, prompting him to be written out of Glee for the final two episodes of the fourth season.

On 26 April 2013, it was reported that Monteith had completed his treatment in rehab.

However, the actor was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, Canada, on 13 July after failing to check out of his room.

His death was ruled accidental.
