Concertgoers are said to have showed their support for Johnny Depp by shouting 'innocent' during his most recent appearance alongside Jeff Beck.

Following the conclusion of his defamation trial against Amber Heard, Depp joined guitarist Beck on stage at a number of venues across the UK, and has so far helped entertain fans in the likes of Sheffield, London and Gateshead.

Last night (3 June), the actor took to the stage in Scotland to play tracks such as 'What's Going On' and 'Isolation' alongside Beck, performing for approximately half an hour before coming back for an encore with a cover of The Beatle's 'A Day in the Life'.

A jury in the defamation trial largely sided with Depp as they determined he should be awarded $15 million in damages as a result of an op-ed written by Heard, and concertgoers apparently made clear they were on Depp's side as they shouted 'innocent' while he was up on stage, TMZ reports.

Other fans chanted 'Johnny!' as the actor performed, though apparently not everyone was in the mood as some Beck fans are said to have told them to 'shut up'.

Depp has long denied the allegations of abuse made against him, and in a statement released following the trial told his supporters he had decided to go through with the legal proceedings in a bid to 'reveal the truth'.

"Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me. I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that. I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness from around the world," he wrote in part.

Heard, however, has maintained that she was abused by her ex-husband and said she was 'heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway' of Depp.

The Aquaman actor has announced plans to appeal the jury's decision, while Depp has described the verdict in the trial as the start of a 'new chapter'.

The love displayed by fans at the concert comes after a long campaign of supporters calling for 'justice' for Depp, who was asked to leave his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise in the wake of the allegations against him.

Depp has continued to receive unwavering support from some fans in the wake of the trial, with social media posts showing fans clamouring to get his autograph outside his gigs and praising the news that he plans to release an album with Beck next month.
