As you've probably seen this morning, Barry Chuckle - the much-loved kids' TV star and comedian whose real name was Barry Elliott - has died at the age of 73.

His double act with his brother Paul as the Chuckle Brothers made him one of TV's most beloved stars for several generations of kids.

However, what you might not know is that there are actually more Chuckle Brothers than you might think.

As we as Barry and Paul, their brothers Jimmy and Brian were also a very successful performing comedy double act known as the Patton Brothers.

They took their name from their dad's career as an entertainer impersonating Gene Patton, and it stuck.

They have been active since the 1950s and have made a long and successful career out of it. They've been in countless pantomimes and performed on stage since then, as well as appearing in their brothers' TV show ChuckleVision.

Jimmy Elliott went by the nickname 'No Slacking' and Brian Elliott went by 'Get Out of It!'. Brian also recently made headlines after he married a 26 year old ChuckleVision fan called Amy Phillips in Southport. There is an age-gap of nearly 60 years between the two.

On top of the Patton Brothers, the Chuckles also have another brother called Colin and a sister called Sheila.

Barry's death was announced this morning by the pair's manager Phil Dale, who said: "It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family,

"The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."

After his brother's death was announced, Paul Chuckle offered a moving tribute to his late brother, partner, and friend.

He said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend."

A statement from the Elliott family read: "There will be no further comment at the moment and it would be much appreciated if the privacy of Barry's family is respected at this most difficult time."

It also said that Barry 'leaves 50 years of laughter as his legacy, which is something very special'.

It sure is. RIP Barry Chuckle.
