Joe Rogan Shared An Aussie Comedy Sketch Thinking It Was Australian 'Propaganda'

The podcaster said Australia has the 'dumbest propaganda' without realising it was all a big spoof on anti-vaxxers.

Joe Rogan has been caught out sharing something he probably shouldn't have. It wasn't something risqué or career ending, however it was pretty silly.

The podcaster posted a video from Gruen, the Aussie comedy show that looks like Australian advertising, and thought it was something real.

The TV show is known for its end segment, where they challenge advertising companies to come up with a slick advert for an unappealing concept.

One ad called out anti-vaxxers for refusing to get the Covid-19 jab by imagining a scenario where someone who was having an anaphylactic reaction questioned what was in an epipen.

The bloke who is struggling to breathe asks a person trying to save him a bunch of questions like 'what's in it' and 'what does Joe Rogan say' about it, before eventually dying.

It seems like the short clip was real enough to dupe the podcaster as he shared it on his Instagram and wrote: "Not only has Australia had the worst reaction to the pandemic with dystopian, police-state measures that are truly inconceivable to the rest of the civilized world, but they also have the absolute dumbest propaganda."

Someone must have pointed it out to him that the advert wasn't real and he followed it up with another message that said: "EDIT: apparently this is not a real ad. It's from a satirical show."

No, it most certainly is not Joe.

Rogan has been keeping his followers up to date with how Australia has been controlling the coronavirus pandemic with restrictions and lockdowns, however, he's kind of blown things out of proportion.

He's questioned why police helicopters have yelled at beachgoers to leave because they were breaking Covid-19 rules and he's also highlighted protests that have erupted across the country.

However, it's always worth pointing out how Australia is faring compared to America in the pandemic.

In total, Australia has recorded nearly 170,000 cases of Covid-19 and 1,722 deaths since the outbreak began last year.

The United States of America has seen nearly 46 million people test positive and 745,535 die from the virus.

Even when you account for the population differences, it's clear whatever Australia did worked to stop people getting Covid-19, compared to America where the virus was allowed to run rampant.

We're not saying that you can't question what is happening, however Joe's constant criticism of Australia's approach to handling a pandemic might want to keep those statistics in perspective.
