The show has been praised for its diversity and for tackling modern-day issues affecting high school kids.

It's been several days since the third season of Sex Education dropped on Netflix and it's safe to say viewers are in love once again.

It's been so long since we last got to see Otis (Asa Butterfield), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and the rest of the gang from Moordale High School explore their sexualities and navigate the tricky battleground that is teenage adolescence.

There is a lot to pick up from following the finale of the second season as there were plenty of fist-pumping highs and 'who is cutting onions in here?' lows.

The official synopsis is as follows: "It's a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way.

"Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms.

"Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff."

It sounds tantilising, cringey in a good way, and a hell of a good time.

It appears the viewers agree and they have praised the Netflix show on social media for again addressing sex and sexual experiences with the perfect balance of humour, seriousness and reality.

The show has been an incredibly entertaining and accurate portrayal of how modern teenagers approach sex.

But Netlfix Australia wanted to see how Aussies really feel about their sex life, so they commissioned The Sex Education National Pleasure Survey to deep-dive into Aussies' kinks and quirks.

The results were pretty surprising.

The Sex Education National Pleasure Survey found one in three Aussie couples are using sex toys in their relationship to spice things up, and that nearly 30 per cent of respondents fantasize about fictional characters (which is similar to Sex Education's Lily and her sexual fantasies).

The research also discovered one in every 10 Australian likes to masturbate at least once a day, 12 per cent of millennials have tried Karma Sutra and that 90 per cent of people wouldn't class themselves as a 'great lover'.

Not only that, but they also discovered 51 per cent of Aussies find the smell of freshly cut grass satisfying, and 22 per cent of us enjoy the sound of bagpipes - weird flex but okay.

See how you measure when it comes to pleasure; head here for more information.

The National Pleasure Survey was conducted by YouGov Galaxy Pty Limited between 6 August and 9 August 2021. Following the completion of interviewing, the data was weighted by age, gender and region to reflect the latest ABS population estimates for Australia. The survey was conducted in celebration of the launch of Netflix's Sex Education Season 3.
