Mick Jagger is undoubtedly one of the most influential artists to ever come out of the music industry, with his flamboyant dancing and his dazzling stage presence, the rock and roll idol’s prestige is unrivalled. 

As the lead singer and joint lead songwriter for the Rolling Stones, who were formed just over 60 years ago, Jagger has had a ceaseless life.

With such an illustrious career behind him, people are undoubtedly asking how much the rock icon is worth in 2022?

What Is Mick Jagger’s Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mick Jagger has accumulated a colossal net worth of $500 million (£414 million). However, being one of the greatest names in the music world, there is no surprise there. 

The Stones have recorded 29 studio albums, 13 live albums and 109 singles. With such a significant backlog they’ve managed to sell 240 million records worldwide, since their formation back in 1962.

Even to this day the band still tours regularly, and when they do, it often becomes one of the highest grossing musical events in history. For example, in 2018 the band earned $117 million (£96 million) off just 14 shows.

So where did Jagger’s road to success begin? Born in Kent to a middle class family, Jagger started playing in a blues band with his friend Keith Richards when he was just 17. A few years later Jagger dropped out of LSE to focus on his band, the Rolling Stones.

The band members' long hair, controversial dancing, scruffy clothes and drug use started a counter movement to the pristine look of their rivals, The Beatles. The press made the Stones out to be the antichrist to the Liverpool boy band. 

The Stones popularity grew and grew as they produced hits such as ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, ‘Gimme Shelter’, and ‘Sympathy For The Devil’. However, Jagger’s rise to fame led him down the road of drugs.

The image of the Rolling Stones is still intrinsically linked with drugs to this day, and in 1967 both Jagger and Richards were arrested for drug possession at Richards’ country house in West Sussex.

Skipping forward to the present, apart from spending his wealth on drugs, what else has Jagger done with his vast net worth? It’s been reported that Mick owns around $250 million worth of real estate world wide, including buying a $1.4 million house in Florida for his girlfriend in 2020. 

Regarding the band's work at the moment, the Rolling Stones’ legendary drummer Charlie Watts sadly died last year. However, Mick has still been touring with the rest of the Stones until recently, as the 78 year old has just contracted Covid and has had to cancel the rest of his European tour.
