Tony Hawk has shared footage of John Frusciante reunited with the Red Hot Chili Peppers during a memorial service this weekend.

Back in December, the band announced that former guitarist Frusciante would be rejoining them after a decade apart and now a clip of them performing together has been shared online.

The reunion took place at a memorial service for movie producer Andrew Burkle, who tragically died last month aged just 27.

In a tribute, Hawk wrote that Burkle was 'a beloved son, friend and brother to the lucky ones that surrounded him'.

He went on to thank Burkle for his work for the Tony Hawk Foundation - a charity that helps set up public skate parks - and credited him with helping the foundation have 'landmark events' for ten years.

Sharing a clip of the memorial service, Hawk wrote: "Thank you to the Burkle family for including us in your celebration of Andrew. His passion for life was contagious & his spirit lives on through our work at @THF.

"A good example of Andrew's magnetism was on display when this all-star lineup came together to play Iggy Pop."

Frusciante is back with RHCP, following the departure of Josh Klinghoffer, who played with the band since 2009.

In a post announcing the news, the band wrote: "The Red Hot Chili Peppers announce that we are parting ways with our guitarist of the past ten years, Josh Klinghoffer.

"Josh is a beautiful musician who we respect and love. We are deeply grateful for our time with him, and the countless gifts he shared with us.

"We also announced, with great excitement and full hearts, that John Fruscia, with great excitement and full hearts, that John Frusciante is rejoining our group. Thank you."

As soon as the announcement was shared, fans rushed to welcome the legendary guitarist back with one person writing: "John is the best in the world. I listen to all of your songs every single day and I'm so glad to see that John's back!"

A second posted: "Finally the heart and soul of the band is back!"

While a third added: "Hell yeah, that s*** actually happened! Can't wait."
