The Burning Man Festival is a bloody big thing in the States, with thousands of people descending every year on Black Rock Desert in Nevada, getting involved in all the awesomeness.

As reported in Billboard, it will be coming to Amsterdam in 2017 with the title 'Where to Sheep Sleep'. It will last from July 29-31.

But what is it? It started in 1986 in San Francisco and is a celebration of expression, whether that be in the arts, performance, generosity or more. There's no real currency as such as people tend to swap things to get by during the festival. It's a friendly atmosphere and children will also have a great time.

Artistically, you can show off all your talents to people and immerse yourself in a jubilant vibe. There's also music but it's less about the commercial acts and more about a community.

Enough of the jargon. This quick clip should help you out.

The best bit of all of it happens on the Saturday evening when you burn a massive effigy bigger than anything you've ever seen on Bonfire Night. Guy Fawkes would piss his pants.

The festival is basically a form of expression, and it looks like a load of fun to me. Take your tents, camper van or whatever and by radical, man!
