After waiting for what seems like FOREVER to find out what the gang have been up to, the wait is finally over - season 14 of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is available on Netflix from today (19 January).

It's already been shown on US network FXX in September last year, so full series info is admittedly available already. I'm not one to give away spoilers but a quick Google search confirms that there is absolutely no doubt that Dennis and co are up to all their usual tricks.

With episode titles like 'The Gang Chokes' and 'Paddy's Has a Jumper', it looks like we're in for more classic Always Sunny escapades.

Season 14 has received good reviews all round, with ratings of 8.8 out of 10 on IMDB and 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The new series is a godsend as we enter the home stretch of the grimmest month of the year, and is there a better place to drown your sorrows than in Paddy's Pub with five of the funniest reprobates? I think not.

The show itself centres on a dysfunctional gang, consisting of brother and sister Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson) and their friends Charlie (Charlie Day) and Mac (Rob McElhenney), who all co-own an Irish bar in Philadelphia.

Along with Frank Reynolds - played by an always-stunning Danny DeVito - they make up a group of some of the worst people in America. The very worst.

The show's cynical tone definitely makes it the perfect viewing in these cold, heartless months, working in tandem with the bitter cold to fuel your growing hatred for everything good in the world. It's still good when the sun comes out too, mind.

Over the past year there has been some talk that this could be the last we see of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with fans fearing the end of the road for the gang.

However, those concerns may have been abated by FX CEO John Landgraf who said there will be many more adventures to come.

Earlier this year, he said: "As long as we can come to business terms that fit both our needs and they can continue to make episodes as good as they have been making, there is a good chance it may go past season 14."

If those reviews are anything to go by, Always Sunny isn't going anywhere any time soon.
