A reporter's live segment from a haunted house has gone viral, with footage showing her walk-through descend hilariously into sheer chaos.

News 4 Jax anchor Lena Pringle was reporting live from the 13th Floor Haunted House in Jacksonville, Florida, on The Morning Show, showing Halloween fans what they could expect from the creepy experience.

Pringle began by saying: "When I originally agreed to it, I thought it was going to be fun, but now I'm a bit terrified."

At this point, a blood-splattered clown with bright blue hair rushes over to embrace Pringle, telling her menacingly: "It's going to be fun. I'm having fun. Are you having fun?"

Pringle explained that the whole process normally takes people about 25 minutes, but that she would only be going through one section of the haunted house.

"Sit back and enjoy, I guess?" she said, wincing.

The camera followed as Pringle walked through the venue, growing increasingly on edge as characters jumped out at her.

As her colleague in the studio told her to take 'deep breaths', Pringle said to herself: "I'm okay, just as long as nobody..."

As a man behind her suddenly lurched forward, placing his hand on the wall by her head, Pringle cut herself off and expertly ducked onto the floor.

Breathing heavily, she told viewers: "Alright, well if you all do decide to come out..."

Again, her report was interrupted by someone jumping up to scare Pringle, who fell to the ground screaming before laughing that she had to 'toss is back' to the studio, unable to carry on any longer.

Pringle later posted the footage on Twitter, writing: "Spooky SZN: Live TV Edition."

She added three crying-with-laughter emojis, as the tweet racked up more than 61,000 likes and 11,000 retweets - suggesting others found the whole thing equally as hilarious.

One person commented: "I have the biggest d**n headache from laughing."

Another wrote: "Woooow major props to this Queen for not tossing out at least 5 to 6 expletives before tossing it back to the other hosts... cuz I can't make any promises."

Someone else said: "If Deontay Wilder bobbed and weaved like you, he would've won that title by now."

A fourth added: "It's the cat like reflexes for me. You deserve a raise for not violating and FCC Guidelines while on Live TV!"

In another tweet, Pringle admitted: "I scare easily."
