Aldi Is Looking For An Official Beer Taster

It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it

There are few things in this world better than beer - but free beer is one of them.

You could get your hands on loads of the stuff by becoming Aldi's 'Official Beer Taster'.

The role is as simple and beautiful as it sounds - the German supermarket sends you beer, you drink it and tell 'em what you made of it.

Fancy yourself as an official beer taster?

The successful applicant will apparently help 'guide and inform Aldi bosses ahead of key decision making for its next range'.

So, who is Aldi looking for and how can you land the gig?

The supermarket said: "The unique job will require the taster to have a passion for beer and pints of enthusiasm, as they will be asked for feedback on the whole range.

"From smooth craft ales to refreshing IPAs, Aldi's official beer taster will receive ten different products to review.

"To be in with a chance of landing the role, all budding beer tasters need to send an email explaining why they think they should be chosen for the role - as well as outlining what their favourite beer is and why."

In your application, you'll need to give your full name, prove your age (with a copy of your passport or driving licence) and write up a 150-word explanation of why you're right for the role, as well as detailing your favourite beer and why you love it so much (I'd suggest going for an Aldi beer here).

Unfortunately, this is an unpaid role, so you'll have to work it around your day job (I'd suggest assuming official beer tasting duties on an evening shift basis).

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: "We're looking for someone with passion and excitement when it

comes to craft ale, but who can honestly review our range and provide suggestions as to how we might improve it for next year.

"For beer lovers, this is the ultimate opportunity. Best of luck to all applicants."

Entries are open until Friday 29 August and the chosen winner will be selected by Friday 2 September, with samples to follow for review.

You'll also need to be available to begin your beer tasting duties from Monday 5 September.

To apply, email [email protected] with your application, including the aforementioned requirements.
