Billionaire boss surprises all employees with £2,600 bonuses

His employees were treated to a nice bonus

Receiving a bonus is always a nice perk of a job, no matter what field you work in.

But for employees of Red Bull, they are expecting a bonus that is heftier than you'd expect.

Boss Mark Mateschit is set to treat his workers to a very generous pay packet just before the Christmas period.

Employees in Austria will be rewarded with a £2,614 bonus by the end of October.

This was announced in an email sent around which read: "I am pleased to be able to inform you that this year, as well as a percentage increase in salary from 2024, everyone working in Austria will also be granted a voluntary one-off payment to compensate for inflation in 2023."

Employees may have seen this coming, considering what a great year Red Bull has had.

In 2023, they had a 23 percent sales increase and had a eye-watering profit of £8.4 billion.

Mateschitz is one of Europe's newest billionaires and was ranked as the world's 37th richest person by Forbes.

After his father passed away in October 2022, he inherited a 49 percent stake in the energy drink company.

However, he isn't the only big spender boss out there.

Mark Neilson dolled out a mind boggling £400,000 to treat his workers to luxury holidays.

The 35-year-old insisted he would rather reward his employees with the dosh than leave it sitting in a bank account.

He's of the opinion that it will pay out in the long run too, as the treats will motivate workers to put in their best once they've clocked in.

In 2023 alone, he's shelled out £82,000 to send 50 people to Iceland, put dozens of people up in Cancun and dished out £62,000 in bonuses.

Another generous boss was the one and only Taylor Swift.

Swift, who is currently on break from her Eras Tour, made sure to show her appreciation for the truckers who make her tour possible.

The 50 drivers responsible for hauling her equipment everywhere were rewarded with $100,000 each.

This was approximately $5 million overall.

Caters, dancers, band members and other members of staff were also reportedly blessed by Swiftie's generosity.

Given that she has an estimated net worth of $740 million, it should come as no surprise that she had this type of money to spare.

With all this talk of generous bonuses, I'm sure a lot of people will be expecting a little more than a gift card this year.
