Many of us like the idea of a unique feature when it comes to looking for a home, whether it’s an original fireplace from the early 1900s or a recording studio hidden down in the basement.
But there are, of course, limits to how much quirky charm we can take – from tiny homes that used to be a funeral parlours through to houses with no front doors. With that in mind, how do you feel about a classic detached bungalow with... a giant pylon in the front garden?

That's what was recently listed on Zoopla, via estate agents Michael Rhodes, with a photo of the exterior showing the unusual design feature on the lawn.
The two bedroom detached property in Nursling, Southampton, is being sold with a guide price of £350,000 ($470,000).
Along with the bedrooms, inside there’s a bathroom, ‘modern kitchen’, large lounge with log burner, and a conservatory.

According to the floor plan, there’s even a large garage measuring 5.89m x 2.86m, and a separate ‘entrance hall’ that measures 2.00m x 5.06m - which will no doubt be a good spot to store all your winter coats and welly boots.

Outside, there’s a pretty spacious back garden with views out to nearby fields. Oh, you’ll probably catch a glimpse of that bad boy metal pylon, too, as it peeks out over the bunaglow.
A description reads: “A well presented Detached Bungalow which is located in a popular area close to the Golf Course. Entrance Hall, Lounge with Log Burner, Modern Kitchen, 2 Beds, Shower Room, Conservatory, Garage, Log Store Gas CH.”

Yup, no mention of that huge pylon in there, you may have noticed – although in fairness, it’s hard to miss in the picture.
In the area, there are two schools nearby - Nursling Church of England Primary School that’s 0.5 miles from the house, and Rownhams St John's Church of England Primary School that’s 0.6 miles away.
If you need to hop on a train, Redbridge station is also 2.3 miles from the bungalow, while Totton railway station is a little further at 2.5 miles away.
If a two bedroom bungalow in Southampton with its very own pylon sounds like a bit of you, check out its listing on Zoopla or head straight to the estate agents' website.
