Actor Ethan Suplee has shown off his dramatic transformation over the last 20 years, having lost a whopping 113kg (17.8st).

The 44-year-old - who played Randy in My Name is Earl from 2005 to 2009 - has been hitting the gym hard in recent years and recently announced he had accomplished his 2020 goal of having visible abs.

Now Suplee, who starred in drug cartel drama Blow 20 years ago, has shown just how far he has come since then:

Discussing his condition, he told Men's Health: "I'm at my absolute pinnacle. I spent 35, 40 years without taking my shirt off in public. The shadows haven't been enhanced. There's loose skin. There are scars. This is who I am."

Suplee was once even leaner than this, but he said it made it tricky for him to get parts, so he relaxed his diet a bit.

He told Entertainment Weekly back in 2017: "After My Name Is Earl, I started obsessively riding bicycles. I actually did get properly thin at one point - I was nine percent body fat.

"But I was also riding a bicycle six to eight hours a day, six days. After two years of that, my wife said, 'Hey, idiot, you can't retire and ride bicycles. You have to go get a job.'

"So then [when I started looking for work], I found that people were like, 'Who are you? We don't know you. You're this new person.'

"So a couple years ago I made the decision: I'm not going to kill myself to be thin when nobody knows me as a thin person, and I do think it is affecting the kind of jobs I'm getting.

"And so I just kind of relaxed on my diet."

Suplee said he began his weight loss journey after meeting his wife - with whom he now has four daughters, after tying the knot in 2006.

Speaking to People (the TV Show!), he said: "I became, for the first time in my life, kind of interested in the future and having experiences with her.

"Like spending a day walking around a museum or going on a trip or hiking that I just wasn't physically able to do.

"For the very first time, I wasn't getting a deep concern from somebody about my health and I felt totally accepted for who I was versus what I looked like.

"And that I think was kind of the bedrock that I was successful with my goals at."
