Couple divides opinion for having pole dancers at their gender reveal party

Couple divides opinion for having pole dancers at their gender reveal party

People said it was an okay idea if it came from the soon-to-be mum, but not if it was the man.

A couple of soon-to-be parents have decided to go down a different route for their gender reveal party.

Look, many gender reveal parties can feel extremely archaic and boring, so you can at least appreciate this couple’s attempt to spice things up.

They opted for a pair of pole dancers, who were dressed in blue and pink, to do a performance ahead of the big reveal.

Maria Popa posted the video to TikTok showing she was hired to perform along with other dancers for a gender reveal party.

What’s even more bizarre is that the couple filmed a video montage of the pole dancers with a slow rendition of Frankie Vallie and the 4 Seasons ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ over the top.

Surely something by Lil’ Jon or Drake would’ve been more fitting?

In the video, one of the pole dancers is seen walking over to a balloon placed next to the couple and abruptly pops it with mini blue balloons flying out, revealing the baby is a boy.

The video caused quite a stir on social media, leaving many divided about this racy party favour.

One person wrote: “Well …. That’s a first.”

Another said: “I thought the dancers were the ones to reveal it while dancing I was so confused.”

A third person wrote: “Y’all…. Pole dancing is a gorgeous and athletic dance, it doesn’t always have to be associated with the club.”

While another chime in: “Honestly I think it's cute if it's her friends are doing this, and they did a really good job. Now if this was his idea....”

However, this is not the only time parents have come up with a bold idea for a gender reveal.

Newscom.au reports that in 2019, soon-to-be mum Amelia hired male strippers, who were also her friends, a part of Dad Bod Stripper Co.

While the strippers didn’t have a six-pack, Amelia shared that their ethos is about breaking the norms of what’s considered 'attractive' and 'sexy'.

She said: “They were about loving yourself no matter your package (no pun intended) and I couldn't think of a better ideology through which to welcome my child into the world.”
