And they say that God doesn’t give with both hands…

So, Ryan Reynolds is pretty much every woman's dream guy. He is a strikingly handsome Hollywood actor, he's funny, and it couldn't hurt that last year he was the 15th highest paid actor in the business. Plus he's got a load of films out this year, so that's only going to get better.

Oh wait, there's more. He is now the owner of a gin company.

Yes, the Deadpool actor has bought a large stake in a small American gin company called Aviation American Gin. He revealed his involvement yesterday on Twitter in a post that read:

The company followed suit, tweeting:

The Canadian actor is hardly the first celebrity to get involved in the alcohol market - after all, Diddy has been handling affairs for CÎROC vodka for about a decade.

Nor is he the first top actor to buy into booze, after George Clooney famously sold his Casamigos tequila to Diageo for about £790m ($1bn).

However, not many before him have taken the decision to get into the gin game. Sales of the clear stuff are on the up and up though, so maybe the time is right.

He declined to say exactly how much he bought of the company or for how much, but they're all calling him the owner/boss so we can probably safely assume that it's a significant amount.

He will also occupy a seat on the board of the company and be the creative director (whatever one of those actually does).

In a statement, Reynolds said: "About a year ago, I tried Aviation for the first time. Since that day, I've spent my time finding some way to infiltrate the company.

"I did this for one simple reason: It's the best damn gin on the planet."

A bold claim, but one we're all willing to investigate.

Aviation is owned by Davos Brands, a company that specialises in importing craft alcohol. It's a large company, but when compared to the big players in gin such as Bombay Sapphire, or Gordon's in the UK, it's relatively tiny.

Lucky, then, that they have a big star on board to help them change that.

Andrew T. Chrisomalis, Davos Brands' CEO said: "Ryan has worked tirelessly to create some of the world's most iconic media properties and will bring that drive and creativity to sharing Aviation with the world."

Expect to see some specially placed craft gin in Deadpool 2 when that comes out later this year then. Maybe.
