A man in the US has been left angry and hungry after ordering spare ribs from a takeaway and finding the delivery driver had only left him with a few ribs spare.

Chris Payton ordered his meal from a Dickey's Barbecue restaurant in West Manchester Township, Pennsylvania, and got it delivered via the DoorDash app.

However, having ordered two boxes of six ribs, he found that one of the portions was missing two ribs and appeared to have been chewed on, while his chips were 'pretty much gone'.

Speaking to FOX 43, he said: "I opened up the food, looked at it, one was half-eaten and one was full.

"I was just dumbfounded. I was really shocked that something like that would happen."

As to how his meal appeared to arrive half-eaten, Mr Payton said he was confident the delivery driver must have been to blame.

Mr Payton was less than impressed with his takeaway.

He said: "I guess she just pulls over to the side of the road and just decides to have herself a little snack before she delivers.

"It's just crazy. I don't understand people why they would do something like that.

"It's somebody's food, you pay for that you expect to get it, you pay for a service."

DoorDash provided Mr Payton with a full refund. However, they did not provide an explanation as to what happened, nor did they indicate what punishment might be meted out to the delivery driver.

Mr Payton offered his own advice to the culprit though.

Mr Payton was left with only a few ribs spare.

He said: "Treat your customers with respect, treat somebody how you would want to be treated yourself."

... Also, make sure to have a nice, big, filling meal before starting a shift as a food delivery driver, as we all know the smell of a takeaway in the passenger's seat can be a tad tempting.

DoorDash was founded in San Francisco in 2013 and operates in more than 3,300 cities across North America.

LADbible has contacted DoorDash for comment.
