Is TikTok Being Deleted In 2022?

A slew of viral social posts have been reporting that the website would be shutting down for good in 2022.

TikTok has become one of the most popular social media sites in the last few years, but that doesn’t cancel out the backlash which the site has already endured.

Just during Donald Trump’s presidency alone, there were multiple attempts to ban the social media site in the US. This eventually turned into a lawsuit against the government in the country.

More recently, a slew of viral social posts have been reporting that the website would be shutting down for good in 2022, and naturally, fans and influencers alike went into panic mode. So, is TikTok being deleted in 2022?

Don’t fret, it seems there aren’t any plans to ban TikTok in the UK or US at the moment.

ByteDance, the Chinese company which owns the video-sharing platform, is actually trying to increase their business by launching Creator Next on TikTok, in an attempt to help TikTok stars monetize their videos and earn money for their success on the platform.

However, a few countries like Ireland and Italy have launched investigations to find out if the social media site poses a threat to national security. So far, they have found that there is no evidence of the platform sharing delicate user data with the Chinese government.

Bear in mind that some countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and those in the Middle East are concerned over the content which TikTok provides. The app’s creators therefore try to keep the app clean, and family-friendly.

TikTok is also still banned in India after the Indian government became worried for security reasons, and placed the ban over the platform along with 59 more Chinese apps. Prior to this, TikTok had over 610 million users in India.

If you’re a fan of the app, it’s good news. We’re fairly certain that TikTok won’t get banned in the UK. The site has over 1 billion monthly users, and it’s still going on the up.
