Adorable Dog Devastated After His Sea Lion Friend Gets Killed By A Whale

A video posted to Instagram, shows the dog howling as his late friend washes up on the shores of a Malibu beach.

A dog has been left shattered after a whale killed his sea lion friend.

A video posted to Instagram by the dog’s owner, Lindsay Greenberg, shows the dog howling as his late friend washes up on the shores of a Malibu beach.

Ahhhhh, my heart can’t handle this. Deep breaths.

The video is captioned ‘Ruff day for us here at the beach’ and it plays a heartfelt montage of the pair's unlikely friendship.

The video shows how the chocolate labrador, named Slim Shady, was initially hesitant to approach the sea lion. However, the duo quickly developed a friendship, with the seal frequently visiting Slim at the beach.

In one particular moment of the touching footage, Slim sits by his window barking as the seal playfully hobbles along the sand to say hello to their pal.

But Lindsay's video shows that one day the sea lion met its end and washed up on the shore of a beach.

Many viewers have taken to social media to express their grief for the pup while marvelling at the beautiful friendship.

One person wrote: “They are directly related to dogs, when I was young I worked at SeaWorld in San Diego. Amazing animals!”

Another person commented: “Poor Slimmy and sea lion. Always in our hearts friend.”

A third said: “This breaks my heart. I’m so sorry for you and your pup. And of course for this adorable Seal who made so many people smile. May they Rest In Peace.”

Greenberg revealed to Newsweek that Slim started barking so frantically it felt like a ‘cry’ when he discovered his late friend had died.

While reminiscing on their companionship, Greenberg said: “The sea lion visited pretty much every day since their first meet and greet!! It would come alone and pop its head up from the sea looking for my dog.”

She also shared that the oceanic friend would always stop by for a visit and often perform tricks for Slim.

She said: “If we were outside they'd make eyes at each other for a while, sometimes the sea lion would do flips and tricks for us!

“On one occasion, it brought a friend and it seemed like it was introducing them!

"They were popping up one at a time like whack a mole and not taking their focus off Slim for a second."

Name a more iconic duo..I’ll wait.
