Donald Trump Falls Off Forbes' 400 Rich List For The First Time In 25 Years

A lot of the former US President's wealth is tied up in New York real estate.

Donald Trump has fallen off Forbes' list of the 400 wealthiest Americans for the first time in 25 years.

The former US President has an impressive personal worth of $2.5 billion, which most people could only dream about.

However, unfortunately for the 75-year-old, that's about $400 million short of what it takes to get onto the coveted Forbes list.

The news outlet explained how Trump was listed as number 339 on last year's rankings, however the coronavirus pandemic has seen his wealth drop by $600 million.

While a lot of people got rich over the past 18 months, much of Trump's worth is invested in New York City real estate, which hasn't exactly fared well with lockdowns, deaths, vaccine mandates, work from home measures and other factors.

When he reentered the list back in 1996, he was ranked lower than number 350, however one year later he managed to nearly crack the top 100 wealthiest people in the country.

It was when he became President of the United States that saw his wealth drop dramatically. Funnily enough, he was never more wealthy than the year before the 2016 US Election.

Forbes wrote: "If Trump is looking for someone to blame, he can start with himself.

"Five years ago, he had a golden opportunity to diversify his fortune. Fresh off the 2016 election, federal ethics officials were pushing Trump to divest his real estate assets.

"That would have allowed him to reinvest the proceeds into broad-based index funds and assume office free of conflicts of interest."

Forbes has outlined what Trump could have done prior to entering the White House that would have not only preserved his spot on the list but also seen him jump loads of places to be number 133.

Guess he will have to see if he can get back on the list next year.

In the meantime, a group has launched a new political action committee on behalf of Trump and you won't be alone in thinking you've seen it before.

A press release has unveiled the creation of MAGAA, which stands for Make America Great Again, Again. Seriously.

"MAGA, Again! will support Trump-endorsed candidates across the country who have proven to be fighters of the MAGA movement and President Trump's many accomplishments," the statement said.

While it's surprising that Trump's inner circle decided on this name out of all possible words in the English language, it's not all that surprising considering how iconic MAGA has become ever since he launched his bid to become Commander in Chief.

The four letters are synonymous with Donald Trump, his presidency, Republicans and a hell of a lot of other stuff.
