Donald Trump has revealed he is planning to take another shot at being US President when the election rolls round in 2024.

He hosted a party at the White House this week, with many attendees seen in a video from the event not wearing masks, and told everyone that he will run again for president.

The president, who recently lost his bid for a second term to Democrat Joe Biden, addressed the crowd, which included Republican National Committee members.

He said: "It's been an amazing four years. We're trying to do another four years. Otherwise, I'll see you in four years."

One attendee, national committeewoman for the Oklahoma GOP, Pam Pollard, live streamed the evening on Facebook.

Her videos showed people crammed in together into the Cross Hall of the White House state floor. The Trumps started their holiday receptions this week, before he leaves office on 20 January.

Social media posts show the events largely have crowds of people gathered closely indoors, which is a violation of the public health advice the US government has advised people to follow over Christmas in the hope of stopping the spread of the virus.

He told the party: "It's certainly an unusual year. We won an election. But they don't like that. I call it a rigged election, and I always will."

Over recent months, the White House has seen many visitors test positive having held at least one 'superspreader' event.

Despite dozens of the president's aides, staffers and allies contracting the disease over numerous outbreaks - as well as the president himself, his wife and two of his sons - the events are going ahead.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's spokeswoman and chief of staff, had said last month that the White House would continue with events, 'while providing the safest environment possible.'

She added that guest lists would be smaller and 'masks will be required and available, social distancing encouraged while on the White House grounds, and hand sanitizer stations throughout the State Floor'.

"Attending the parties will be a very personal choice," she added.

President-elect Joe Biden has already begun his work, and has been praised over his plans to reverse Trump's ban of allowing transgender people to serve in the military.

According to ABC News, a policy document revealed the Biden campaign said Trump and Vice President Mike Pence 'have given hate against LGBTQ+ individuals safe harbour and rolled back critical protections'.

As well as lifting the ban, Biden also reportedly wants to create high-level LGBTQ+ positions in the State Department, as well as in the National Security Council and other federal agencies.

The Biden administration will also make enforcing the 2019 Equality Act a major priority, which 'prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, public education, federal funding, credit, and the jury system.'
