Sydney actor Blake Davis has been sentenced to five years and three months in prison after he killed a man with a samurai sword who attempted to rob him.

The 31-year-old Fat Pizza and Housos actor was convicted of killing rapper Jett McKee on August 10, 2018 with a 255mm sword.

The court heard McKee entered Davis' Forest Lodge residence with a pistol and a balaclava and demanded Davis hand over money.

Davis said McKee told him: "Give me all your f***ing money or I'll kill you."

The actor put his hands up and told the rapper he didn't have any money on his person or in his property.

Davis told the court he was 'completely terrified, in shock' and that McKee had said: "People know where your f***ing family lives, give me all your f***ing money or we'll kill your family too."

Davis alleged that McKee pointed a gun at his partner, Hannah Quinn. That caused Davis to chase McKee down the road, before he struck the rapper with the sword, killing him.

The jury found Davis guilty of manslaughter and Quinn, 26, was found guilty of accessory after the fact of manslaughter.

According to news.com.au, NSW Supreme Justice Natalie Adams said: "I am satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that Mr Davis intended to kill Mr McKee at the relevant time.

"All the eyewitnesses described one clean, intentional blow. I am satisfied...Mr Davis wielded an extremely dangerous sword, causing a significant injury from which (Jett McKee) could not have recovered."

Davis and Quinn argued they were acting in self-defence, with, Davis saying he only used the sword to 'save Hannah'.

Justice Adams added that the 'degree of excessiveness' of Davis's response was 'moderate'.

"I am satisfied he felt scared and confused ... but that does not adequately explain his actions of hiding evidence, taking things and fleeing," she told the court.

"I am satisfied McKee pointed the pistol inside the premises. I am not satisfied McKee was pointing a gun at Quinn at the time of the fatal blow.

Justice Adams rejected the Crown's case that he committed the murder 'in cold blood.'

"This was not a vigilante attack," Justice Adams said. "I am satisfied that Mr Davis is very remorseful about taking a life.

"I'm left with no doubt the lives of the Davis family and the McKee family have been shattered forever."

Davis will serve a non-parole period of two years and nine months and will be eligible for release from prison as early as August 2023.
