It's only a few weeks until Italy's LEGOLand opens up and the photos from the amusement park look absolutely incredible.

The epic theme park will throw open its doors on June 15 and will boast loads of rides, a lazy river, drench buckets, water slides and even a sandy beach.

It was all set to open last year but, as we're all aware, the pandemic swooped in and put a big hold on the €20million park's big reveal.

But, after many months, the date is now just on the horizon.

In addition to all the fun activities, people visiting the resort can get stuck into the incredible Miniland, which houses the tiny real-world replicas of famous landmarks.

There were nearly five million LEGO bricks used to make the creations and they're all absolutely mind blowing.

Luca Marigo, sales and marketing director of Gardaland, said: "Good progress has been made on building the Lego Models, that will make the Legoland Water Park in Gardaland truly one of a kind.

"Two hundred and forty models have been built with three million Lego bricks.

"One of these will be a large and friendly purple octopus, made of 258,126 Lego bricks, placed right at the entrance to the water park, ready to amaze all visitors as they arrive."

This will be the first Legoland water park in Europe, though there are already others in Dubai and Florida.

The website for the water park claims visitors will have the chance to 'dive into millions of Lego bricks' - which sounds quite painful, if you ask me.

The website reads: "Get ready to slide, splash and build your way to fun at Legoland Water Park, the new world class attraction at Gardaland Resort.

"Guaranteed fun at Legoland Water Park, where you can dive into millions of Lego bricks, in a sea of interactive water games and rides, play on the very colourful water-slides and relax in the fabulous themed areas!

"And tiny tots can explore too, building their own creations and enjoying the first child-friendly water attractions."

Italy is currently on the Amber list for British people wanting to travel to the country, which means UK tourists will have to self-isolate at home for 10 days upon their return.

They'll also have to take two PCR tests on days two and eight.

Even though you'll probably be absolutely itching to go for the grand opening, the Foreign Office currently advises against all non-essential travel to Italy.
