Kim Jong-Un's Longest Absence From The Public In Seven Years Sparks New Health Concerns

The last time he was seen was back in mid-October and many are asking where he's been.

Kim Jong-un hasn't been seen by the people of North Korea for a month and it's sparking fresh concerns about his health.

It's the longest absence from public view in seven years and many are wondering what is keeping the dictator busy.

His last public appearance was 30 days ago during a missile exhibition in Pyongyang. Ever since then it's been crickets.

Because the Hermit Kingdom is just that, it's difficult to know exactly what's going on with the world leader.

North Korea News has suggested Kim could be isolating at one of his 'getaway properties', with one rumour pointing out his inner circle could have tested positive for coronavirus.

The leader owns a beach house on the country's east coast as well as a mansion closer to the capital and he could be at either of these just trying to avoid getting the virus.

The local news outlet claims there has been 'increased activity' on satellite imagery at these properties, which could confirm everyone's suspicions.

The question is why?

North Korea News has highlighted how Kim has taken eight breaks from public view this year, which is the second highest number of absences since he came to power.

The only other year where he was more distant from public appearances was last year and that's when rumours of his suspected ailing health were running rampant.

Some people suggested the dictator was struggling with heart problems and one rumour even suggested he died and was replaced with a body double for the next time he was seen in public.

This year, however, analysts have noted how Kim lost a large amount of weight during one absence back in May and he was also seen with head bandages recently.

While he might not be seen by the public or the cameras, it appears he is still carrying out his leadership duties.

He recently sent a congratulatory message to the King of Cambodia, where an official message read: "On behalf of the government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), I extend my warm congratulations to Your Majesty King, and the government and people of your country on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

"It is the common desire and aspiration of our two peoples to invariably strengthen and develop the long-standing and traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Cambodia.

"I take this opportunity to wish Your Majesty King good health and happiness as well as success in your work for the prosperity of the country."

All eyes will be on the next time he makes an appearance and whether he looks any different than before.
