People Horrified By Sydney Rental Property That’s Going For $375 A Week

Someone genuinely thought it was a kid's cubby house.

Everyone knows that the property market in Sydney can be out of this world.

The city regularly appears on lists about the most expensive places to live and one rental property is here to confirm that very fact.

Nestled into the backyard of someone's house in Bundeena in Sydney's south rests a little granny flat that can be yours for the low, low price of $375 per week.

It's right on the waterfront and, according to Ray White, boasts a 'modern bathroom', a kitchen, and the price includes electricity and water.

But when you have a look at the photos, there are loads of people on social media who are wondering what their 375 dollarydoos are going towards.

You get the joy of looking into your landlord's home and vice versa, and you'd have to be comfortable with a combined living and sleeping space.

After being posted on Reddit, one person wrote: "Legit thought it was a kid's cubby house."

Another added: "I've seen people build granny flats in their backyards that look way more like a home than this. It's like they didn't even try."

A third said: "The property market is disgusting and you see every week, like every week the property investors selling and buying like crazy making the houses and appartments more and more expensive. F em really f em."

A different user pointed out how Bundeena is a pretty exclusive area that backs onto the Royal National Park.

As of 2016 there were fewer than 2,000 people living there and there's very few rental properties on offer in the area, which probably explains why the market is so expensive there.

Still though, it's a lot to pay for not a hell of a lot.

At least it's nowhere near as bad as this London studio apartment that really dives into the meaning of cosy.

Space Let/Zoopla

The small flat with a one-person bedsit is located in West Kensington, west London and is on the market for £390-a-month (AUD$740).

Reported by The Mirror, the listing via Zoopla boasts a 'fully furnished' design with trendy 'wooden floors'.

I guess you just have to trust them on that one.

The limited amount of room is showcased by the sink, microwave and cooking hob placed within touching distance of one another.

Somehow, they've managed to fit a wardrobe, chest of drawers, table and one chair in there as well - fair play.

The listing explains that tenants will have to stay for at least six months.

Space Let/Zoopla

The Space Let listing reads: "A single bedsit situated within a large Victorian house in-between West Kensington and Baron's Court stations with lots of amenities in the area.

"Fully furnished, wooden floors fitted throughout, own kitchen.

"Compact studio room furnished with a single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, small table and chairs.

"Own kitchen with a counter-top cooker and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, fitted stainless steel sink unit and a range of wall and base units.

"Shared bathroom with a shower, WC and wash-hand basin."

Well, if you're studying at uni and don't want to shed out crazy money on accommodation, there might be a way around it.
