Horrifying Image Taken Before Teen Was Stabbed To Death At Sydney Royal Easter Show

The photo shows the 15-year-old teenager in question walking through the crowd while holding a knife before the stabbing took place.

A terrifying image circulating online reveals the moments before a teenager was fatally stabbed at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

The photo uploaded to Facebook shows an attendee walking through the crowd with a knife in his hand.

According to news.com.au, police believe the stabbing was not random, as the two parties were involved in a brawl shortly before the incident occurred.

Footage has also emerged of the fight breaking out in front of a ride, with a man punching another man in the ribs while others rush to his defence.

Emergency services were called to the event around 8pm last night (April 11), after a 17-year-old suffered chest wounds and a 16-year-old was also stabbed in the leg.

Inspector Mark Whittaker from NSW Ambulance told reporters that despite paramedics' best efforts, the older teen was declared dead on his way to Westmead Hospital.

“There’s no doubt this would have been a very confronting scene for the dozens of witnesses who were out to enjoy an evening at the Royal Easter Show," he said.

NSW Police confirmed an investigation is now underway and posted a statement that read: "A male was arrested nearby a short time later and will be taken to Auburn Police Station.

"Show visitors have been moved out of the area with a crime scene established.

"Inquiries are underway by detectives from Auburn Police Area Command, assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad."

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) also issued a statement saying they were ‘saddened’ by the tragic loss and did not ‘condone’ any acts of violence at their events.

"Our sympathies are extended to the family and loved ones of the deceased person," the statement said.

"The RAS does not tolerate or condone any violence or anti-social behaviour and we join with NSW Police and the wider community in condemning this appalling behaviour and unnecessary loss of life."

RAS also said that sections of the show will remain shut from today (April 12) as police continue to investigate the incident.

This isn’t the first time a brawl has broken out at the annual holiday show.

Last year, a fight occurred between 20 people on the show's final day, leaving a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old with slash wounds to the shin.
