Zookeeper In Critical Condition After Being Mauled By Lion At Australian Zoo

A zookeeper from the Shoalhaven Zoo in New South Wales has been left in a critical condition after being mauled by a lion.

The ABC reports the woman was found with injuries to her neck and head at the zoo on the NSW South Coast.

Paramedics were called around 10:30am and stabilised the patient before putting her on a helicopter to be flown to a Sydney hospital for treatment.

The Shoalhaven Zoo is not commenting on the incident.

The facility has been closed to visitors since March 25 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
