Alun and Elaine Rees from Wales had been pulling the unintentional stunt for 18 months.

Yesterday we learned of the couple over in Wales who were accidentally wiping their entire village's internet connection every time they turned on their TV - for 18 months.

Well, they were in for a treat today, as the couple got to publicly address their accidental faux pas while in conversation with TV's own Piers Morgan.

The pair appeared on today's (23 September) episode of Good Morning Britain to discuss their story with hosts Piers Morgan and Susannah Reid, who both found the whole thing as amusing as the viewers at home.

Speaking to Alun and Elaine from Powys, Pier explained: "But it turned out, Elaine, that every time you turned on the TV, you two were wiping out your entire village's internet connection - every day."

To which Elaine casually said: "Yeah apparently so, but we didn't know."

Her answer left the hosts in stitches, before Susannah asked the couple how they made the discovery that their telly was causing such disruption for the whole town.

While crocheting a delightful looking blanket, Elaine said: "Well it was one morning, we were sitting in bed watching you on the telly, and we heard some people talking outside, it was the BT or Powys people.

"They were walking around with a meter, and so they stopped outside our house and pointed the meter at us and we went and talked to them and they said, 'Your television is causing a breakdown in the internet, can you switch it off?'

"So we switched it off and the internet came back on apparently and so he says, 'Do you mind not using this television anymore?' and we said 'Oh, alright,' and that was it."

Problem solved.

As you might imagine, the viewers at home found the whole thing as amusing as Piers and Susannah.

"Omg I absolutely love these two!!!! Hahahaha as if she's just carried on with her blanket Face with tears of joy omg the best couple EVER!!!!" wrote one commenter on Twitter.

Another said: "Quite possibly the best interview I've seen for ages. Those two are REAL people."

"Can we have these 2 as a regular feature please they were a breath of fresh air," added a third.

But the story doesn't end there, as in the same interview Piers asked Elaine why she likes watching him on the telly.

"Because you make me laugh... and cross," she replied, explaining that she gets miffed when he 'won't let Susannah talk'.

Not only did Elaine's answer gain her a round of applause, but Piers also decided to award the couple a brand new 65" TV - one that hopefully doesn't cut out their neighbours' internet.
