The Australian government introduced a rule a few weeks ago to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Anyone coming in from overseas would have to be quarantined inside a hotel room for two weeks, regardless of whether they were symptomatic, to ensure they couldn't pass Covid-19 onto others in the community.

Some people found it tough, with photos being posted to social media showing the dire situation of some of the rooms.

But one hotel has decided to throw a big bash for its temporary residents by getting a DJ to pump the choons on their final night of lockdown.

The music man was brought into the forecourt of the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney's CBD and gave a show to lift everyone's spirits.

Around 400 people had been quarantined in the building after coming home from holidays or business trips and Tuesday marked the final night of their two week lockdown.

Many flocked to their balconies to rave from a distance and loads of the partygoers were thrilled with the show.

One guest told 7News from her balcony: "I feel like I'm a golden retriever that has been stuck in a room and hasn't been able to go on a walk, and this concert was just all my energy over two weeks."

It's not the first time someone has been brought in to help those who have been forced to stay indoors.

In Spain, where the virus has wiped out thousands of people, a fitness instructor helped lead people on an exercise class.

In the video, you can see the instructor keeping spirits high as he leads residents of an apartment complex in Seville, in the country's south, through an aerobics workout.

Situated on a rooftop at the centre of several blocks of flats, the clip shows others joining in the workout and copying his moves from their own balconies, in turn getting their fitness fix at a time when the country is on lockdown to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

To an upbeat soundtrack, locals were guided through everything from crunches and squats through to star jumps, with many appearing to thoroughly enjoy the communal workout.

The footage was shared on Instagram by Spanish fitness group Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales, which said the man was an instructor called Gonzalo.

The company's post said: "This is how @gonzalo_gbroto is passing the time with his neighbors.

"This is the spirit of Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales.

"Despite such adverse circumstances, we're going to get the best out of you."
