An exotic dancer in Texas showed she was ever the professional as she managed to continue dancing despite falling around 15ft from a pole.

The dancer, who is called Genea Sky, had been performing at a gentleman's club in Texas, where she clambered up a tall pole.

Mid-performance, she fell down and smacked into the floor beneath her, suffering a series of pretty gnarly injuries in the process, as captured in footage that has been shared on Twitter by a user called @1Freedrugs.

Amazingly, she not only got straight back up onto all fours, she also managed to carry on dancing and twerked her way across the stage.

While Sky had somehow kept her routine going in spite of being in what was no doubt a lot of pain, she has since revealed she has to undergo surgery after 'pretty much' breaking her jaw in the fall.

She also broke some of her teeth, sprained her ankle and required stitches to her chin.

Taking to social media to thank everyone for the support she'd received since the clip of her shocking fall went viral, she said: "I'm getting a lot of messages asking me if I'm okay and all this stuff, so I decided to update everybody and let them know what's going on.

Genea Sky has since posted a video on Twitter explaining what happened.

"I pretty much broke my jaw and I have to have surgery on it tomorrow.

"I broke some teeth, and I got a sprained ankle... And I got some stitches.

"But aside from that, I'm good. I have no broken limbs, I walked away myself. I got up right after it happened, and I'm just really overwhelmed by all the messages and everything.

"I'm so thankful for all the positive messages I've been getting and all the love. It really means a lot."

Through tears, Sky admitted she has been struggling since the incident, but said it 'could have been a lot worse'.

She added: "I am having a hard time, but I am okay, and I'm gonna be okay.

"It's just a really humbling experience to just be alive, I'm really thankful for that. That's just what's most important to me at this very moment."

GoFundMe

One of her friends has since also set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for 'Genea's medical expenses', having already raised more than $13,000 of the $20,000 goal.

"My friend Genea was in a horrible accident while she was working," Ayana Knowles wrote in the GoFundMe desciption.

"She now has a fractured jaw, broken teeth, and a sprained ankle. Her job does not cover the expenses of her medical bills.

"Since she sustained such serious injuries, she will be out of work for an extended period of time.

"Any donations towards her surgeries would be helpful and appreciated! Thank you all in advance."

Here's hoping Sky has a speedy recovery.
