At some point, most of us have benefited from Martin Lewis' financial wisdom. But have you ever wondered what kind of house the Money Saving Expert lives in, apart from a really big one?

Well, viewers of last night's (16 April) episode of the Martin Lewis Money Show finally got a sneak peek inside as he filmed from the comfort of his home office.

Writing on social media earlier this month, the TV presenter had opened up about the anxiety of having to leave his house to travel to work during the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "About to leave home for the first time in a week, to walk to the studio for my show.

"Genuinely feel anxious, been lucky to be able to stay home, in our safe bubble. Puts me in awe of NHS and other key workers out daily for the greater good."

After returning home, Martin revealed that his wife Lara, a journalist, made him get his kit off to protect themselves from the deadly disease.

He explained: "As soon as I got in Mrs MSE [Money Saving Expert] asked me to take all my clothes off. Thought it must've been a really good show.

"Then she explained she wanted to me put everything in the wash as I'd been outside the house, and I should go shower."

Discussing the issue of working from home, Martin told followers that it was something the couple had deliberately avoided in order to keep their privacy.

He said: "For years we've deliberately NEVER done at home shoots, filmed at home, put our daughter's pic online.

"I.e. we keep our private space private. Covid's forced change."

Fans were impressed with the set up.

But with the lockdown having been extended, he and Lara - who hosts the BBC tech show Click from home - set up a makeshift studio in his office.

Ahead of the show, Lara gave her followers a look around, and it's safe to say they were very impressed with the decor.

Writing on Twitter, one fan said: "Looks like you guys have a nice gaff."

A second commented: "Seriously Lara & Martin, why should anyone bother with the big fancy studios after you pull off something this brilliant."

"Looks great for you both," praised a third.

While another added: "Ooh I was admiring that red chair! Stupidly didn't occur to me it wasn't a set. Very slick both of you."
