Forensic Scientist Fired After Being Caught Having Sex With Corpse, Brazilian Police Say

A forensic scientist has allegedly been caught in a rather awkward situation after being found having sex with a corpse in Brazil.

According 7News, an officer from the Department of Forensic Police walked into the autopsy room at the Institute of Legal Medicine to find Wanderley dos Santos Silva mid-coitus with a dead female body.

When Silva was caught, he reportedly ran out of the room.

The Daily Mail reports the man was out celebrating with a mate after his local football team won in the continental Copa Libertadores.

For whatever reason, Silva ended up back at his workplace and was drunk. It was here that he was allegedly caught in the compromising position.

Police have launched a necrophilia investigation.

Silva could face anywhere between one and three years behind bars as well as a hefty fine. Necrophilia isn't actually specified in Brazilian law, however the offence is filed under 'abuse of a cadaver or its ashes'.

The situation was also reported to the Department of Forensic Police and Silva, along with another colleague, were immediately fired for 'serious functional faults'.
